AZNACS at Southern Coast

Albany and the Southern Coast

Historic Albany is one of the first settlements in Western Australia and home to the last land-based whaling station, which is now an interactive museum. In 1914 Albany was the last port of call for many of the ANZACS leaving for the Middle East and Europe. A new interpretive centre and memorial have been built for the centenary.

When visiting Albany, just 35 minutes from Karribank, you can enjoy a whale-watching cruise, a round of golf, or a drive around the rugged coastline. With its stunning beaches, perfect for fishing, swimming and exploring, Albany offers a wealth of natural beauty and history.

Mount Barker

Mount Barker, once the regional heart of early agriculture, now boasts a diverse range of local produce, including premium wines, free-range chicken and pork, beef, fruit, and grains.

A visit to the Banksia Farm is a must, offering a complete collection of banksias. The local museum provides a fascinating glimpse into the lives of early settlers, taking you back in time to the region's rich history.
